GREEN AMBASSADORS LOGO

Our school has conducted various fun competitions to prompt pro-environment actions from students. The competitions were a fun way to raise awareness and encourage participation from students which challenged them to showcase their talents in a creative way. The competitions carried out within the school was a great way to help students break free and think outside the box to further enrich the learning experience. The competitions carried out included Logo Creations, Climate Change Quiz and Lose to Win Challenge.

LOGO COMPETITION

CLIMATE CHANGE QUIZ

Earlier in the academic year of 2020 -2021, TWS held a quiz that had the following objectives:

  • To spread awareness about the burning environmental issues.

  • To assess students’ general knowledge about the various topics related to climate change.

The first round of the quiz was conducted in November 2020 where all the Secondary students from Year 7 to Year 10 got an equal opportunity to participate. Three students with the highest score from each of the Year groups were selected for the second and final round.


In the final round, the Year 7 team competed with Year 8 team and likewise, Year 9 team competed with Year 10 team.
The winning teams were awarded a special certificate of appreciation.

RECYCLING COMPETITION

“Creativity is making marvelous out of the discarded…”


Carrying on with the School’s mission of going greener, Secondary Girls of Sigma house successfully initiated the “Rethinking Waste Competition” for Year 7-11 girls. It was with the aim of encouraging students to use their creativity and artistic skills to create something useful out of disposable materials. 

 

More than 25 students participated exhibiting out of the box creations, and after rigorous evaluation of the entries, the judges Ms. Nayeem (Head of House-Primary) and Ms. Marshanil (Head of House-Secondary Boys) had finalized the winners.

Under the leadership of Ms. Beena Thamban -HOH Secondary Girls -Sigma House and Sigma House student Mathani Mudathir -Yr.11G4 with the purpose of inspiring the ambitious young minds of TWS to utilize their interests for a better cause.
